Does Anyone in the News Media Speak the Language?

Why do news media reports use the phrase “Healthcare reform” when they mean “government intervention in the health care industry’?

I would expect journalists, who make their living with a skill that is for all practical purposes universal, to take pride in the accurate  use of their medium. In this way they may attempt to distinguish themselves from the other 6 billion people with their same exact skill set.

  1. The incompetent need an industry too. They also need, more than others, to feel their “work” is important. When the federal government bails out the news media and allows them to print the administration’s propaganda, they will feel more important than ever.
