President Obama occasionally likes to speak about how he will bring transparency to government. He’s made several initiatives, with varying degrees of success, but it is probably too early to judge whether he’s made any substantive changes.
He does have an excellent opportunity to lead by example. He can immediately, in the name of transparency, release the names of all of his under $200.00 campaign contributors. While the list should be over one million names long, the vast, vast majority contributed electronically so the records would be very easy to provide. Several news organization have made this request months ago.
